RW/RR CHALLENGE: BATTLE OF THE SEXES 2 Despite a cast chock-full of sluts, drunks, drama queens and schizo’s, there was no drama in episode two. However, two burning questions arise during this show. What happened to Coral? Coral first appeared on The Real World 10 as a strong, intelligent woman full of pride. Now? She’s dating Abe and is infamous for her hollow threats to her younger teammates. What happened to Tonya? Tonya was the spoiled drama queen on the Real World 11 cast, the girl who cried nonstop because she missed her boyfriend so much. Now she’s a scratchy-voiced, greasy-haired slut who flashes the rest of the cast before jumping into the pool. Another one bites the dust (not that I mind). Even these two sidebars didn’t help the excitement of the show. No drunk episodes, no gratuitous make-out sessions, no backstabbing; just a complete disappointment no matter how you look at it. My theory is that there are too many people still around. Each team started with 18 people, meaning there were still a total of 34 people still at the Santa Fe ranch in this episode. With so many people and so much action to cover in just a half hour, the chance for any real drama this early in the season is slim. THE MISSION: “Snake Pit Poker” Each team has to pick up 175 poker chips out of a large pit filled with approximately 150 snakes. The snakes are small and obviously not too dangerous, but still, they’re snakes. Each team member has to walk into the pit, pick up five poker chips and step out. They can’t be standing on a platform while they do so, they must pick up exactly five (counting must be quite a challenge) and only one team member is allowed in the pit at one time. If it sounds boring, it’s only because it was. One person calmly stepped into the pit and cautiously picked up five poker chips among the snakes. After they stepped out, another member slowly stepped in and did the same. After the times and penalties were calculated, the winner of the challenge again went to the guys. The elimination votes were fairly simple. Since the only two guys with penalties were Ace and Abram, the simple choice was Ace. And since guys always take the simple choice, both on this show and in life, Ace was to be sent packing. The three team leaders on the women’s side were Cameran, Arissa and Coral. Since Cameran has been shown numerous times complaining that the others take the game so seriously, she was the obvious choice. And for once, the girls all agreed. Yawn. THE CEREMONY Cameran’s former cast member Robin is in charge of sending her home, which is done in a swift and painless manner. Same with Ace, and neither seem to care. Though I’ll miss the most beautiful woman on the cast, I’m looking forward to the next episode, and hopefully some of the senseless drama I signed up for. Scenes from next week: the forming of alliances and homosexual softcore porn (presumably in that order).
