{+} My internet friend (stop laughing) lattewarrior brings the pain yet again with his write-up about cereal. Oh, and Surreal Cereal? I thought I had the market cornered on awesome-yet-impossible ideas introduced via blog, but apparently I was mistaken. Duly noted.

{+} Here is the trailer for “A Serious Man,” the latest effort from the Coen brothers (release date: 10/9). I have no idea what this movie is about, but I’m excited anyway. Must be Pavlovian.

I think some of this movie was shot in the old science building at St. Olaf. That place is straight out of the 60s.
Here’s the thing about organic food. A lot of people eat it not because they believe it is better for them in terms of nutrients, but that it is better because it is grown without the use of synthetic chemicals, such as pesticides, that can do scary things to the earth and water over time. That’s me. I would rather eat food that is cultivated in a way that is less-harmful to to the soil it is grown in.
Sustainability is a responsible way to grow food. It is sad that it costs so much more to produce non-chemically treated fruits and vegetables than it is to grow crops in the traditional (chemically enhanced) way.
Just FYI: I have a personal bias in this arena. Some of my favorite people are organic farmers.
